In the field of asset management the BaFin not only supervises financial services institutions and capital investment companies; it also conducts product supervision in the case of funds invested in Germany. The financial services institutions are supervised – in the same way as the banks and credit institutions - in accordance with the KWG. The basis for the supervision of capital investment companies is the Investment Modernisation Act 2004 (InvG). 
In the context of our mandates we assist financial services institutions in the submission of their permission applications in accordance with § 32 KWG, and the fulfilment of their duties of disclosure under supervisory law.
